Every year, UCLA releases a report on the representation of women and people in color in film and TV. This year’s Hollywood Diversity Report will address film and TV separately, and so far, only the film report has been released. I’ll be curious to see if the numbers look better for TV (and I suspect they might), but the numbers reported for diversity in film in 2019 point to a troubling trend....
Well before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, back when parents’ vaccine concerns had to do with routine immunizations and the flu shot, I was an anti-vaxxer. I was suspicious of pharmaceutical companies, for one thing. The newly-discovered coronavirus variant, Omicron, has left scientists racing to understand what this means for the pandemic and for those who are still too young to be vaccinated.
